Five Tips To Keep Your Hair Looking And Feeling Amazing During Fall

Welcome back guys, I've officially relaunched Georgia's Corner and I am feeling so happy with the content now that's being put out on a newer, fresher site. I thought I'd jump straight back into it with a post on what a lot of people are struggling with right now. The harsh fall weather usually makes my hair feel so limp and lifeless and look dry so I thought I'd help you guys by letting you know what helps me at this time of year!

1. Aussie 3 Miracle Oil
I've mentioned this in another post but I swear by it. It keeps my hair feeling so fresh and silky even when it's at it's driest. I just take one pump on my hands when my hair's feeling a little under the weather, rub them together and comb my hands through my hair, avoiding the roots because it can make them look greasy. If you just apply to the hair that's ear level and under, I usually find that's the best rule of thumb.

2. Avoid Shampoo/Conditioner Brands Like Pantene/Tresemme
Now, I can't speak for everyone but I find it best to avoid these brands because they leave a thick layer of silicone on your hair to give the appearance of a healthy shine. This isn't necessarily harmful to the hair but it can feel silky and smooth but after a couple of washes with another shampoo that doesn't contain silicone it reveals how your hair actually feels which is dry and neglected because the silicone creates an almost barrier. This means whatever oils you're applying to your hair are just sitting on the top and not soaking in, even the natural oils that your scalp provides. I swear this is not a sponsored post by Aussie, but I absolutely love their volume shampoo and conditioner.

3. Keep Up With The Chops
No, this is not a spin off of KUWTK, I mean keep up with the hair trims! Harsher weather means more dead/split ends and if you're not chopping them off, they're going to keep breaking off stopping your hair from growing longer and healthier. If your ends are frazzled then your whole hair is going to feel frazzled.

4. Wash Sparingly
Your hair does not need to be washed more than once or twice a week! It may sound wrong but it's actually true. When you wash your hair you're stripping it of those natural oils that coat it, you don't want to be doing that too much or it can dry out. You can train your hair to go from daily washes to once a week by going a little longer each time you wash it. During this stage, dry shampoo will be your best friend!

5. Comb When Wet, Brush When Dry
Brushing your hair when it's wet is too harsh on it, instead comb through it in sections to gently get those stubborn knots out starting from the ends of your hair to the root.

So there you have it, there's five of my tips to keep your hair looking and feeling healthy, I hope this helped you guys and thank you again for sticking with me during the hiatus. Welcome back and I look forward to what's coming up!

Until next time...
